Helldivers 2 players have successfully defeated the Bots, and now they’re helping bug farmers – Destructoid

Following a hectic and draining week of battling the Automatons in Helldivers 2, players have finally won the war against the machines. But now they must help Terminid farmers start again.

This week in Helldivers 2 has seen players throw themselves against the Automatons, hard, lifeless machines that want to enact a plan called ‘The Reclamation’. To do this, players have worked through several phases of Operation Swift Disassembly, which has seen us systematically cut the enemy off from any planet in the galaxy. We conquered the last planet today, but now Super Earth has redirected us all to help out the bug farmers in Terminid systems.

Players put Helldivers 2‘s bots out of their minds in favor of helping farmers rear strong, healthy Terminids

I’ve been tracking the final phase of Operation Swift Disassembly all day, and it finally happened. After a stunning few hours of battling with the Automatons on Durgen, we liberated the final planet in Automaton space. This means the faction no longer has a foothold in the galaxy and has basically disappeared. Although some of us aren’t so sure we did the right thing in this war.

Once Durgen had been liberated, players wasted no time, turning to focus on Terminid space without any clear direction. However, unlike past weekends, when we were left with no new Major Order for a day or two, we got a new one within a few minutes. As of right now, the current Major Order requires Helldivers 2 players to liberate three planets in Terminid space so bug farmers can safely grow Terminids for oil.

At the time of writing, It’s Estanu that players are focusing on first. This makes sense because it has direct supply lines to Crimsica and Hellmire, the other two planets in this Major Order. After Estanu, it would make the most sense to tackle Hellmire since its supply lines are the most complex to maintain. Then, we can shift to Crimsica. Checking on Helldivers.io shows that players are instead opting to liberate Crimsica as well as Estanu, but that could change in a few hours.

The in-game message from Super Earth has me and a few other Helldivers on the game’s Subreddit a little worried about what these bug farmers are up to. The farmers will be enriching the bugs with “state-of-the-art nutritional supplements.”

I don’t want to sound like a traitor to Super Earth, but these bugs have already shown how they can get one over on us with their evolutionary arms race. Surely, giving them better diets is only going to allow them to evolve faster and more efficiently. I hope this doesn’t speed up the return of Hive Lords, but it could, and that would certainly make for an interesting week ahead.
