Publisher Activision has banned over 27,000 Call of Duty accounts for cheating over the most recent weekend.
That’s according to the franchise’s Ricochet anti-cheat team, which told CharlieIntel that this was due to recently upgraded hack detection. These bans were across both Modern Warfare 3 and the Warzone battle royale mode.
“#TeamRICOCHET identified and banned over 27,000 accounts over the weekend through a series of upgraded detection systems,” the developers wrote.
“The team is progressing on a new set of security updates and anticipates more ban waves to come.”
This comes alongside the launch of new content for Modern Warfare 3, as well as a free multiplayer trial.
Activision says over 27,000 accounts were banned in Call of Duty, across Warzone and MW3, over the weekend.
