From the first episode of “Too Hot to Handle” Season 6, Demari Davis and Bri Balram had their eyes on each other, but their time in Lana’s villa was anything but easy.
When Demari broke the rules by kissing new bombshell Valentina Rueda Velez, Bri made sure he recognized his mistake and knows she won’t be with someone who has a wandering eye
After some soul-searching and multiple attempts to get Bri back, Demari eventually succeeded. By the season finale, the couple had shown that they could overcome obstacles and come out stronger on the other side.
But was Lana’s retreat enough to ensure that the couple could stay together in the “real world?” Read on to find out what happened to the star couple of Season 6.
What happened to Bri and Demari at the end of ‘Too Hot to Handle’?
Together, they won $100,000 in a 7-1 house vote for strongest couple.
Throughout the retreat, Bri made sure Demari knew she wouldn’t come easy. But by the time they made it to their final date, the two were inseparable.
On the date, Demari opened up about how the retreat taught him not to self-sabotage — like he did on the date with Valentina. He said he regretted ever hurting Bri and wanted to make sure he would never do it again.
“And going forward, the connection that we’ve built, I don’t wanna run away from that any more. I know that what we’ve built is special and I would like to provide some reassurance. I will 100% be committed to you,” Demari said.
Bri spoke about learning to trust someone with her feelings again after being cheated on in the past, and she thought Demari could be the person she finally opens up to.
“I like where we are and I like what we’ve built, and I want to be able to be vulnerable owith you,” Bri said.
The date ended with Demari asking if Bri wanted to be his girlfriend.
Bri’s response: “Duhhhh!!!”
What did Bri say about her relationship with Demari and experience on the show?
In an interview with TODAY.com, Bri spoke about her experience in the villa and her immediate connection with Demari.
“I think initially he was just the tallest good-looking man in the villa. I walked in and I immediately caught eyes with him and I was like, ‘that’s it, that’s him, I want that one,” Bri says.
“Like somebody hand picked him and put him right there for me when I walked in like his eyes, his smile, his skin, his body. It was all just perfect. I gravitated towards it.”
Although her experience in the villa was very different from dating in the “real world,” Demari was exactly who she would have normally wanted to talk to.
“It was more intense in the villa, but if me and Demari had seen each other out I think we wouldn’t be able to resist talking to each other,” she said.
Bri said that she believes Lana’s retreat truly helped her grow and learn about herself.
“It taught me a lot and I’m very grateful that I had that experience,” Bri said. “It was great because I got to build friendships and relationships and I didn’t feel alone. That was probably the best part about it, because I was actually trying to do it alone in real life and I got to do it with such an amazing group of people.”
Are Demari and Bri still together now?
In an interview with TODAY.com, Bri confirmed that she and Demari tried long distance, but did not want to disclose her current relationship status.
She says she’s looking forward to sharing all that she learned in the villa, especially when it came to getting to know Demari.
“Boys will always be boys and sometimes you just have to let them be boys, but eventually they will be a man,” Bri says.
