Recently Pocket Gamer Connects celebrated its tenth anniversary as part of the annual flagship event Pocket Gamer Connects London. Of course, this also meant the return of The Very Big Indie Pitch.
The Very Big Indie Pitch is our bumper edition competition where even more developers can pitch an ever-increasing range of brand-new and diverse gaming experiences from some of the most exciting indie developers from across the globe.
The Big Indie Pitch is a regular event run by the makers of PCGamesInsider.biz. It gives indie developers the chance to pitch their games to industry experts and journalists in a speed-dating-style format. Teams receive valuable feedback and the opportunity to win great prizes such as promotional packages and opportunities to promote their game.
As always, the competition was extremely tough. However, eventually, the judges were able to settle on a top three and ultimately one worthy winner.
All in all, one thing is for sure: all of our finalists, which you can learn more about below, are more than worthy of highlighting.
1st Place – Beer and Plunder by Oddiko
In Beer and Plunder, you must survive the chaos as alongside a friend you attempt to run your very own Viking pub. It won’t just be booze flying round though, as you’ll also have to dodge axes and other weapons whilst breaking up fights between your hot-headed customers. You may even have to fight one or to of them too. It’s time to show the world what Viking hospitality looks like.
2nd Place – Tea Is Served by Jante Interactive
In this VR comedy horror game, you are the entertainment for the annual tea party of the world’s most feared cryptids. As the gormless new waiter you’ll face many perilous tasks as you serve the most evil, demanding, and hungry monsters from across the globe. From Dracula’s Castle to the bottom of Loch Ness, you must pour tea, make finger sandwiches, and whatever else these entitled creatures demand if you want to make it out alive
3rd Place – Nomori by Enchanted Works
Nomori is a stunning mind-bending puzzle-adventure game in which you must control both space and time to traverse a splintered spirit world. Your only assistance in this strange world is Usa, a spirit companion whose powers let you bend space and time. Thanks to Usa you’ll be able to take shortcuts through portals, rotate the very world, and even control the flow of time as together they try to make it out of this broken and safely return home.
