Apex Legends Season 23: From the Rift is now live, bringing with it a newly “revived” Lifeline, a grenade launcher from Titanfall, and, of course, a new battle pass packed full of interdimensional cosmetics and other out-of-this-world loot.
There are four separate battle pass tiers: Free, Premium, Ultimate, and Ultimate+. Keep reading for a closer look at all the goodies in the battle pass, along with more info on each tier, including a breakdown of exactly how much loot you can get without spending a single cent.
Free tier
The free version of the battle pass is (obviously) available free of charge. You don’t need to do anything to unlock it; just fire up Apex Legends, play some matches, and you’ll start earning free loot. Of course, the free version of the battle pass is easily the most underwhelming version, but it’s still worth completing, especially for any players who are hunting for Heirloom Shards, as the free version of the battle pass includes several Apex Packs that can make that dream a reality (if you’re lucky). The free version of the From the Rift battle pass also includes some Apex Coins (AC) and a fair number of cosmetic items.
Players who finish the free battle pass will earn a total of:
- 16 cosmetic items
- 200 AC
- 7 Apex Packs
Premium tier
The Premium tier of the From the Rift battle pass can be obtained for 950 AC or (about $10 USD). The premium version of the battle pass has loads of Epic-tier loot, and is well worth the price, especially since completing it will earn you a total of 1,300 AC to spend on cosmetics–or the game’s next battle pass. The Premium-tier From the Rift battle pass includes 60 levels of Epic- and Legendary-tier cosmetics, tons of Apex Packs (including an Epic-tier Apex Pack and a Legendary-tier Apex Pack), and a good amount of various in-game currencies like Crafting Metals.
Players who complete the Premium-tier Shockwave battle pass will earn a total of:
- 51 cosmetic items
- 1,300 AC
- 1,200 Crafting Metals
- 14 Apex Packs
- 10 Exotic Shards
Ultimate tier
The Ultimate tier of the battle pass can only be unlocked by purchasing it directly for $10 USD (AC cannot be used). The Ultimate tier is essentially the same as the Premium tier, with one exception: Players who purchase it will instantly unlock the following items upon purchase:
- 1 Legendary Apex Pack
- 2 Epic Apex Packs
- 5 Rare Apex Packs
- 1,200 Crafting Metals
Ultimate+ tier
The Ultimate+ tier is available for $20 USD (again, AC cannot be used to purchase it) and its main selling points are the two exclusive Legend skins it includes. This season, the Ultimate+ tier features the Legendary Astral Anomaly Caustic skin and the Legendary Star Cluster Ash skin. Players who purchase and complete the Ultimate+ tier of the From the Rift battle pass will earn the following items:
- 53 cosmetic items
- 1,300 AC
- 1,200 Crafting Metals
- 14 Apex Packs
- 20 Exotic Shards
Depending on your taste, this version of the battle pass may be worth the money, as it also includes the same instantly unlocked bonuses as the Ultimate tier, plus two extra features:
- 1 Legendary Apex Pack
- 2 Epic Apex Packs
- 5 Rare Apex Packs
- 1,200 Crafting Metals
- 10 battle pass levels instantly unlocked
- All Legends are playable for the duration of the battle pass
Players who purchase the Premium tier of the battle pass can always change their minds and upgrade to Ultimate or Ultimate+, and doing so will instantly refund the 950 AC they spent to purchase the Premium tier.
Apex’s battle-pass system has undergone some serious changes this year, but one battle-pass feature remains the same: Legendary-tier reactive weapon skins. Players who complete the Premium, Ultimate, or Ultimate+ battle pass will unlock the reactive Phase Crusher Legendary Mozambique weapon skin, allowing them to make use of Apex’s recently added dual-wielding mechanic while staying stylish.
