Lottacoins Island puzzle solutions, codes in Mario & Luigi Brothership

By mzaxazm

In Mario & Luigi: Brothership, the Mario Bros. journey to a location known as Lottacoins Island, a metropolitan destination where the business of Concordia gets done. The office buildings of Lottacoins Island are home to two security locks in the form of number block puzzles you’ll need to get past on Lottacoins Island.

This Mario & Luigi: Brothership guide shows you the Lottacoins Island gate codes. Or, for those of you who are just looking for some hints, we also walk through how to solve both number block puzzles.

In the main building on Lottacoins Island, there’s a set of stairs that lead to the upper floors — but access to that area is blocked by a four-digit code. You’ll need to input the correct code on four number blocks found in a room to the upper right of the main lobby. There are three clues that will help you deduce the unlock code.

Your first clue can be learned from a receptionist in the main lobby. Speak to the pink character at the far left of the front desk, and they’ll show you the following puzzling clue.

There are two ways to interpret this clue. The potted plant has five leaves, and there are five tables in the lobby area with potted plants on them. Regardless of the intended meaning, they both point to the same number: 5.

Your next clue(s) await you up the stairs on the right side of the lobby area. Before you head up there, speak to the blue Concordian next to the stairs, who will tell you about a clue on the work table in the communication room upstairs. Head into that room and you’ll see a glowing object and a funky looking monitor.

Interacting with that monitor will bring up a message from a Zok Trooper, who offers a hint about two of the numbers needed to solve the puzzle:

Second from the left: 3

On far right: 7

On the work table, you’ll find a piece of paper with the following clue sketched on it.

This clue asks players to count the number of cabinet doors in the communication room — there are six of them — and the number of pen cups — there are two — and add that number. We get 8.

Putting all those clues in order gives us the following solution: 5387

Punch that in to the number blocks, hit the confirm block, and you’re golden.

Lottacoins Island Building 4F Code to free the prisoners

To free the Concordian office workers trapped in a jail cell on the fourth floor, you’ll need to track down four clues and figure out which numbers they correspond to. Here are the four clues:

Clue No. 1 asks you to find two security cameras and figure out how many triangles those cameras are pointing at. Those cameras are on opposing walls in the same room where the number blocks are.

In total, the number of triangles visible through the security cameras is six, giving us the first digit in the puzzle: 6.

The second clue points to a series of potted plants in a hallway to the west of the security room on 4F. Interacting with the plants marked on the clue sheet reveals two hints: “Less than 6,” and “Greater than 4,” which is obviously 5.

For the third clue, you’ll find another series of numbers pinned to an outdoor walkway on 3F.

Taking those numbers (6491) and applying the math listed in the third clue sheet (6+4-9+1) gives us the third number: 2.

The fourth clue takes us to a work room just west of the previously mentioned walkway. There’s another security camera in here, which is pointing at the following group of numbers.

Using the fourth clue’s instruction, we find our final number: 9.

Head back up to 4F and east to the security room, and input the solution 6529 to free the imprisoned office workers.
