A Note on Behaviour at Global Village
Given the international nature of Global Village, there are a few rules that visitors to the UAE especially should pay attention to. They are rules as these are more closely enforced than at other parts of the city:
- Guests are asked to dress modestly—leave your short-shorts and busty tops for the beach. If in doubt, go back and read our Dubai dress code advice about the right time and place for certain outfits in the UAE.
- Avoid public displays of affection—holding hands is no issue, and cuddling the kids is fine, but it’s not the place to get smoochy with your partner.
- Do not bring in items such as scooters, Segways, skateboards, etc. – you’ll see why when you see the crowds.
- Do not be caught filming without a permit—a quick video on your smartphone is fine, but if you are using any equipment to make YouTube videos, etc., please seek the appropriate media permission.
