Guerrilla, CD Projekt and Id vets form new studio Fun Dog Studios

Developers who have worked on the likes of Horizon: Zero Dawn, Doom Eternal, The Witcher 3 and Mass Effect have founded a brand new studio called Fun Dog Studios.

The venture is 100 per cent employee-owned and is headed up by CEO and creative director Miles Williams. He was formerly an artist director and senior concept artist who has worked on projects such as Horizon: Zero Dawn and Star Citizen.

Fun Dog Studios is working on its first title, a tactical survival horror shooter called The Forever Winter.

“This is personal to us. We’ve worked on some of the most successful games ever, and miss the days when the industry flourished with new experimentation, new stories, new gameplay, and new voices; so we formed our own company where we could be free to do that,” Williams said.

“As independents, we’re free to forge our own path to make games we all can’t wait to play ourselves. We’re not chasing the hot new trend, we’re trying to bring back things that we’ve felt the industry has lost. Think new IP, less plastic.”
