‘Primrows’ is a Cozy Gardening Puzzler from the Makers of ‘The Day We Fought Space’, Heading to Mobile and PC – TouchArcade

Tursiops Studios, who brought us the excellent “wreck ’em up” shooter The Day We Fought Space a couple of years back, has a new title making its way to mobile and PC soon. Well, I should probably use the term “new” loosely since this is actually one of their older games that went the way of the Dodo due to the constantly changing technical requirements of the App Store and iOS devices. Yeah, that 32-bit Appocalypse sure was something.

The game in question is titled Primrows and that original version launched way back in 2010 before finally succumbing to its injuries in 2017. Tursiops figured that instead of trying to patch up the old game with toothpicks and scotch tape in order to pass the bare minimum of technical requirements, they’d take the opportunity to start over from scratch on a brand new version of Primrows, using knowledge gained over the past decade-plus to make the game even better than it originally was.

The core concept of the game remains the same, as described on the game’s website: “The goal of Primrows is to ensure each garden has no two of the same flower in any row, column, or quadrant. Prune flowers that don’t fit the pattern, water and grow new flowers in your garden. Flowers grow at random, so you’ll have to consider risk and reward as you ponder your strategy.” With revamped artwork, multiple new game modes, and numerous other new features, if you were part of the small but passionate fanbase of the original Primrows then this new version should feel essentially like an entirely new game.

As far as modes go, there will be a Quick Play which sounds like more of a bite-sized high-scoring affair, and a Journal Mode which has you trying to reach specific goals from your journal over a more extended gameplay period. There will also be Weekly Challenges which, funnily enough, will offer new challenges weekly. Although no release window has been revealed just yet, we do know that Primrows will be coming to PC in addition to iOS and Android devices, and if you so desire you can go Wishlist the game on its Steam page right here. This should be a hoot on the Steam Deck. Once a release date or any further information is revealed we’ll be sure to let you know.
