Tango is “considering” a Hi-Fi Rush sequel

Japanese developer Tango Gameworks is looking into making a sequel to 2023’s Hi-Fi Rush.

Speaking to IGN, studio head Colin Mack said that the developer was “considering” such a project but didn’t want to confirm that a follow-up was in the works.

“We are considering a sequel positively,” Mack told IGN. “We are not yet at the stage where we can say specifically, ‘This is what we’re going to do.’ ”

Hi-Fi Rush director John Johanas added: “Many of our staff have a lot of love for [Hi-Fi Rush], so we feel like we have options. We’re currently at the stage of considering various opportunities.”

Meanwhile, project manager Kazuaki Egashira said that part of what makes Tango Tango is that it is always looking to create new experiences.

“Hi-Fi Rush became popular as a new IP, but if Hi-Fi Rush were to stay the same forever, it would eventually become outdated,” they said.

“I think Tango Gameworks is about taking on new challenges. I hope to continue to work in a way that puts developers at the center, without losing our passion.”
