- CKRD have announced their newest game peripheral with the Atom controller
- It’s a tiny, but allegedly fully-functional game controller that fits on a keychain
- It comes with a ten-hour battery, d-pad, face and shoulder-buttons
Well, we’re reaching the end of the day, but guess what? Yes, there’s still news from Gamescom, or at the very least adjacent to it. But in this case, it’s not a new game, it’s a peripheral. CKRD have announced their new controller with the ‘Atom’, and as you may’ve guessed, they hope it’ll prove to be small but potent.
The CKRD Atom Controller is a tiny, but fully functional (or so they say) game controller that doesn’t just fit into the palm of your hand, but also onto your keychain. It’s slated to feature a battery life of over ten hours and features a USB-C to USB-A adapter for charging. There are no cutting corners in terms of controls either, as it features a d-pad, four face buttons and even four shoulder buttons!
Oh, and it also comes in eight unique colours to boot.
The power of games, in the palm of my handI have to admit, it’s very, very tempting to call the Atom a gimmick device. I mean, it’s a keychain controller, for crying out loud! But at the same time, a ten-hour battery life, and all the buttons you could ask for are sorely tempting, especially given how much of a pain trying to play Symphony of the Night using touch-screen controls is.
Still, until the Atom gets into the hands of the general public around the end of this month, we won’t know just how well CKRD has lived up to the hype with the Atom.
